Michael Scheuer

Michael Scheuer is a twenty-two year veteran of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in Washington, devoting his service to national security issues related to South Asia and Islamic extremism. He was a senior counterterrorism official at the CIA, and served as the former chief of the Bin Laden unit in the Counterterrorist Center from 1996 to 1999. He resigned from the CIA in 2004. Scheuer is the anonymous author of New York Times and Washington Post bestseller Imperial Hubris: Why the West is Losing the War on Terror and the earlier anonymous book, Through Our Enemies’ Eyes: Osama bin Laden, Radical Islam, and the Future of America. Scheuer has been featured on many national and international news programs for broadcast media and documentaries.
