Daniel Pipes is the founder and director of the Middle East Forum, and a former member of the board of the U.S. Institute of Peace. He is a regular columnist for the New York Sun, Philadelphia Evening Bulletin, and The Jerusalem Post. His work has been published by many newspapers across the United States, including The Washington Post, New York Times, and Wall Street Journal. Pipes is frequently invited to discuss the Middle East on broadcast media, universities, and think tanks. He has appeared on BBC and Al-Jazeera, and has lectured in 25 countries. Pipes had different position in the US government, including two presidential appointed positions, was the vice chairman of the Fullbright Board of Foreign Scholarships, and was the director of the Foreign Policy Research Institute in 1986-93. Pipes has written more than twelve books. His most recent book is Miniatures: Views of Islamic and Middle Eastern Politics.
